Hope

Hope Beatrice Kurth came into this world on Halloween, 2007, tipping the scales at 3 pounds, 15 ounces -- most of which was hair and big eyes. Hope has Cornelia de Lange Syndrome, a fluky genetic mutation that isn't passed on or recurring in families -- except very rare ones. That's us. Hope's older brother, Will, died in 2005 from CdLS complications when he was 89 days old. Her younger brother, Oscar, was born in May 2010. She thinks he's pretty cool. This space is devoted to updates, ruminations, frustrations and media galore and told by her parents, newspaper journalists living near Detroit.
