After waffling, we took Hopesy to the Emergency Room about 3 a.m. Wednesday. She stayed for about 10 hours, felt a little better, and has since settled into her new, troublesome routine: Serious lethargy, a lot of sleeping, little if no appetite and the all around blahs.
Poor Mo has called the doctor about six times, we went back to the hospital Friday afternoon for blood work and are trying our darndest to avoid dehydration. But it seems like Hope is stuck in a bit of a vicious cycle: The more she feels bad, the less she eats, the less she eats ...
We're hoping it'll run its course soon. Some nasty stomach thing has been making the rounds that usually lasts about 48 hours. With her, we double that and cross our fingers. The docs say she should emerge by the end of the weekend. Still, we fret and worry. It's tough seeing our little spitfire mope around like a sack o' moldy potatoes.
Update: Hope went back to the ER on Saturday afternoon, not long after my lame attempt at harnessing the reverse mojo of the blog failed miserably. She was admitted late Saturday night and probably will be here at least another day or so.

i completely know how you're feeling in every sense and hope that it passes soon... 'they' weren't kidding when 'they' said that illnesses would be a lot of 'work' for our kiddos!
Get better little one!!
p.s... i am trying to find mason a 'boy' bonnet lol--he is a pro at tearing out his hearing aids now... but he also hates hats.. so it has been a battle of wills with the darn things and usually he wins! just when he was showing quite a bit more auditory awareness.. we are set back quite a bit.
go away tummy virus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, maybe having MSU win their game will make her feel better? (I hate to admit it to Beth, but I was cheering for Michigan State -- figure they need something to cheer about more than UConn. Sorry to hear Hope's under the weather! Prayers for a quick recovery coming her way.
Fingers crossed that the blog posting works its "opposite" magic and that Hope's feeling better.
As for the Final Four, I now have to figure out a way to send Joel & Mo a New Haven style pizza, as that was the bet we made if UConn lost. I forgive you, Jan, but I don't know if I can forgive my team.
I really hope she feels a lot better soon. :)
I'll be praying Hope feels better soon! Have they checked her for a UTI? Jess had one about age 2 and all the symptoms looked like a stomach virus (vomiting, legarthy, lack of appetite, fever)...looking back I could kick myself (and the doctors) for wasting so many days relying on their stomach virus diagnosis!
Sorry to hear that Hope's so sick...we hope she feels better soon.
Hope- we are praying for you to get better soon!!
We're keeping you guys in our thoughts and prayers. Hang in there!! Lisa, Brian and Liz
keeping little Hope in thoughts and prayers!
